AS reported by PTI (Press Trust of India), the US President Donald Trump has intended to terminate the lottery system to trim the inventory of highly -skilled immigrants.

This proposal will offer desired relief for the skilled Indian techies who are waiting for a long time to attain Green Card.

If at all congress passes this proposal and endorse into law, there will be a hope to cut down the long wait and backlogs of skilled immigrants from India and help them getting the Green cards.

For Issuing Greencards, the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program (DV Program) seeks the help of lottery System. Over the last five years, over 50,000 immigrants or fewer have achieved their permanent residentship to the US by DV program.

Among all the entries, the selection is made randomly from the countries with low immigration rates to the US.

If the present lottery based Diversity Immigrant Visa Program is replaced with the proposal of skill-based visa program, then the superiority will be with the countries holding high-skilled workers. It is clear that the advantage will be to India as the Indians keep the majority of H1-b visa, and will be preferred first for the allocation of Green card.

English speaking and listening skills, young age group, advanced professional degree, etc., will count up more possibilities to Indian migrants for qualifying for permanent residentship to the United States.

Immigrants of 18 Nations are not authorized for Green Card under DV program as in the last 5years more than 50,000 citizens from these countries have been issued the Green Card earlier.
